Things To Do On Pancake Day 2013

This year’s ‘Pancake Day’ falls on February 12th. Once upon a time, the day was known as Shrove Tuesday, it was a time where families would use up ingredients such as milk and eggs before fasting during Lent. But rather than wake up to pancakes how about heading on down to these free events below.

Better Bankside Pancake Day Race
Starting at 12 noon to 2pm at Borough Market, there will be teams of expert Pancake tossers, who will be running and flipping pancakes at the very same time, will race against each other for Charity.

Pancake decorations at Fortnum and Mason
Get some inspiration from the professionals, starting at 11am  in the demonstration Kitchen located on the Demonstration Kitchen on the first floor. There will be a professional chef  showing you how to make and flip the best pancake ever.

Parliamentary Pancake Race
Starting at 10.15am at Victoria Tower Gardens, members of the house of parliament will be taking part in a race against members of the press, which is for the brain injury charity rehab UK.
