On Thursday 15th March, the E2E team attended the Spirit of London Awards (SOLA) 2012 nominations, held at City Hall in the heart of London. It was a very inspirational and entertaining evening with a variety of performances from the likes of Ashley Walters.

We carried out interviews with several people involved in SOLA in the press room whilst the vent was taking place. The nominations evening took place in preparation for the main event which will be happening in November at the Wembley.

For those of you that don’t know, SOLA is a fantastic organisation which focuses on celebrating the achievements of young people in sectors ranging from business to performance. There are so many inspirational ambassadors for SOLA and people who work within the team who we were able to interview on the evening. Some of the interviews included Shaun Bailey, Ade Adepitan – paralympian basketball player, Neev – Kiss FM presenter and DJ Lucas Pinto an amazing 8 year old campaigner for ‘Living Wage’ campaign and of course Gary Trowsdale the founder of SOLA himself.

Numerous other performers, guest speakers, nominees and previous SOLA winners were also interviewed including Jessica director of J’s Dance Factory, who had all affected the youth population in a positive way.

From the interviews conducted at the nominations, the general consensus was a genuine family feel environment, where everyone involved looks out for one another. SOLA is an incredibly positive, rapidly growing and refreshing organisation and E2E were extremely happy and privileged to have been involved in the evening.

Check them out for more information on their website and look out for the interviews and pictures from the event!
