Rihanna debuts new cropped hair style, while British Band One Direction ‘light up’ the VMAs with 3 awards!

Last night the stars walked the red carpet and sat down for a night of celebration in Los Angles for the MTV VMAs. The Kevin Hart hosted night was filled with drama, new looks, cheesy jokes and achievement.

Rihanna held the spotlight through most of the night; after strutting her saucy self down the red carpet in an elegant white number, with a new short hair do. This was then followed by a quick change to open the show with A$AP Rocky performing ‘Cockiness’ and then later receiving an award for her controversial ‘We Found Love’ music video. To top that all off she got a hug and kiss from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The limelight was then taken over by our very own One Direction, who had the girls screaming their lungs off as they performed their new single ‘One Thing’. They then made us proud by scooping up not one, but three awards making them the biggest winners of the night – topping Canada’s Justin Bieber!

Other awards won on the night were scooped up by Drake, Nicki Minaj and Coldplay.

The awards air tonight at 9pm on MTV. If you can’t wait for the results, check them out after the jump!
