Oxford Street and Regent Street shoppers will be VIPs for London’s traffic free shopping day.

It’s back! Oxford Street’s traffic free shopping day has returned for its seventh consecutive year! Taking place today (November 24) London’s West End shoppers will be turned into VIPs (very important pedestrians) as Oxford Street and Regent Street will be traffics-free for a day of shopping and festive activities.

Pedestrians will be able to move around much more easily during the weekend, which will help relieve the stress of the Christmas rush. The streets which also include New Bond Street and Old Bond Street, will be closed from 8am right up to 8pm.

The traffic-free shopping extravaganza will feature live street performances, in store promotions and offers to lift the spirits of the shoppers and pedestrians making the shopping experience all the more special and festive. There will also be trained West End Gift Gurus on hand to help shoppers look for the perfect gifts!

During the West End VIP weekend American Empress will be offering double rewards to its card members on every purchase made in the traffic-free area.

This year’s charity partner is Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, which aims to grant magical wishes to children and young people aged 3-17 fighting life-threatening conditions.

As this special event is taking place in the last weekend of November it is the best time to get all or at least most of the Christmas shopping out the way, and kick off the festivities with a great vibe!
