New ‘Romeo and Juliet’ film trailer
The trailer new adaptation of the new “Romeo and Juliet” movie has been released.
It’s been a staggering seventeen years since Baz Luhrmann’s screen adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet – starring a young Leonardo Di Caprio was released. Still the most known film depiction of the story, it seems not enough time has passed for a remake of the world’s arguably most famous love tragedies of all time!
Taking a more traditional approach, Italian director Carlo Carlei has made new version of the film; with fresher faces taking on Di Caprio and Claire Dane’s protagonist roles. Shot in different locations in Italy, the new adaptation will see True Grit’s Hailee Steinfield and British TV star Douglas Booth play the star-crossed lovers.
The film will also see Homeland’s Damien Lewis, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick and Saving Private Ryan Paul Giamatti star.
Romeo and Juliet is out in UK cinemas July 26, 2013. No U.S. release date has yet been set.
