DJ Tiny “All I remember was a phone call”
Dj tiny tells Endz2Endz’s Andre Johnson his experience as a DJ and how it has been being Stormzy’s official DJ.
All I remember was getting a phone call and the two of us agreeing on me being his DJ. I was doing a show at the same venue as Stormzy and I was told he was going to be there, but all this time he knew about my mixes and my work as a DJ.
The young DJ from South London told us how it all began.
“You know what yeah, my cousin was a DJ and all I remember was him teaching me and mixing. Being young you pick things up and you are able to learn quick. So I started going to shows and watching him DJ. Little by little I was able to learn and pick up skills and I was able to DJ. So I started mixing on soundcloud. Going to parties, raves and small events. Through these things I picked up the skill to do it and I just got better and better.”
The DJ from South London not far from Stormzy featured on BBC Radio1 and was on Stormzy’s Jools Holland show late last year.
“Being a DJ is very challenging for real. There is a lot of pressure in the heat of the moment and you have to channel positive energy by staying calm at all times possible. http://endz2endz.com/interviews/dj-tinyall-i-remember-was-a-phone-call/Many things have gone wrong whilst doing a show. But you have to be well within yourself to keep up with the pressure, solve the problem and most importantly entertain your fans because you never know who may be a fan and know exactly who you are.
DJ Tiny is going to Iceland next week.
