J. Cole drops a new track called ‘Crooked Smile’, featuring TLC’s Chilli and T-Boz.
With under two weeks to go until the release of J. Cole’s sophomore album, Born Sinner, the North Carolina hailing rapper churns out another track to keep us content. Untitled ‘Crooked Smile’, the song features TLC’s Chilli and T-Boz and is probably one of the most anticipated tracks on the LP.
The track is another one for the ladies and the radio, and will most definitely be a hit with its inspirational message. Speaking on the track at a secret listening party in London recently, Cole said:
…not only discussing our imperfections, but embracing them. Taking away the power from others that would try to use them to hurt us.
And embrace imperfections it does as the producer raps about people saying he should get his “grill fixed” now he has money! Bringing that 90s feeling with the vocals of TLC (minus Left Eye – R.IP) and the inspirational vibe that Nas’ ‘I Know I Can’ brought us, this track is one of the realest tracks out at the moment and one of the realest J. Cole has released officially.
Born Sinner is scheduled for release June 18. Give it a few spins or ten below.
