Kendrick Lamar has dropped a brand new track, giving us a taste of what’s to come from his debut studio album, good kid, m.A.A.d city. The T-Minus produced song entitled ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’ is mellow but strong – like a good drink. The track which is the second track revealed from his highly anticipated upcoming album is a dark one, something slightly different from the artist; but as per usual K-Dot slays!

The futuristic and spaced-out production gives a feel of what it’s like to be faded. While the dark lyrics speak of reasons why people drink, being edged on via drinking games and ignoring your conscience. Kendrick raps:

Now I done grew up around some people living their life in bottles/granddaddy had the golden flask, backstroke everyday in Chicago/some people like the way it feels/some people want to kill their sorrows, some people want to fit in with the popular/ what’s my problem.

The album which so far includes ‘Dying of Thirst’ and ‘The Recipe’ featuring Dr. Dre, is out October 2nd.
