Throwback Thursday: Craig David – Fill Me In
E2E music feature writer Lydia resumes Throwback Thursday with a UK spring/summer classic.
What’s good guys?! Been a while hasn’t it? Never fear though, because I’m back with your weekly instalment of throwback goodness.
I thought this week we could sip on a little something to get us in the mood for summer, and in my opinion, there’s no album that screams stunners, drop tops and crop tops more than Craig David‘s Born To Do It. In fact, I would even go as far as saying that this is one of the best R&B albums, like, ever. Don’t even bother arguing with me on this. It is fact.
Craig released Born To Do It in 2000, and 13 years on, it still gets me in the mood to gather the troops, slap some fat pieces of chicken on the BBQ and get waved on a banging bowl of rum punch! Tracks like ‘7 Days,’ ‘Last Night,’ ‘Time To Party’ and ‘Rendezvous’ are just a few tunes that make this album oh so memorable. However, my choice for today is ‘Fill Me In,’ simply because it was the track that started everything, and it still sounds as fresh as the first time I heard it at the age of 9. (9, you know. Damn, I’m old.)
Pop open your Kopparbergs, turn those speakers up and bang this track guys! Craig, WE MISS YOU!
