E2E music feature writer Lydia takes you back to the summer of 2000 for this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday.
What’s going on people? I’m back with another banger for this week’s #TBT and you won’t be disappointed!
Many people often forget about this track, but for me it definitely showcases exactly what it is that I adore about R&B. And when I say R&B, I mean real R&B! None of this nonsense we’re hearing these days. I’m talking about those raw and soulful vocals, that old school production and those cheesy ass videos – and you can get all of this from Ruff Endz‘s ‘No More’.
Released in 2000, it managed to bridge the gap between old school R&B and new school R&B perfectly. This song wowed R&B lovers at the time as it managed to hone in on that dope 90s sound, as well as bringing a new flavour. I for one, was living! No BBQ is complete without this song – I’m telling you.
If you forgot about this one, it’s never too late. This track will always sound better when the sun is shining so start adding it to your summer playlists and you can thank me later (by inviting me to your BBQs!).
