His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announce baby Cambridge’s official name.
Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton have revealed the name of their son, His Royal Highness Prince of Cambridge has been named, Prince George Alexander Louis.
In a press release the media reported that: “The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge,” the crown said in a press release.
Prior to the name reveal, members of the public were playing the guessing game and betting about the name. Betting shops saw a surge in bets as people placed odds on the future Monarch’s name; all of which were the name of previous Royalty. Coincidentally, the bookies favourite was in fact George.
It seems like Kate and Wills couldn’t wait to reveal the name, so much so that they’ve publicised it a lot earlier than the media had believed.
Yesterday evening, the world watched on tenterhooks as the couple finally showed their bundle of joy to the world! Prince William even joked that the baby had more hair than him and takes after his mother in looks.
The Duchess of Cambridge paid the ultimate tribute to her late mother in law by wearing a dress that’s extremely similar to the late Princess Diana when she first gave birth to Prince William.
“The Duke and Duchess had been expected to pick a traditional royal name for their son, who was born at St Mary’s Hospital in London on Monday at 16:24 BST, weighing 8lbs 6oz,” the BBC reports.
Welcome to the world Prince George!
