Rihanna’s new single ‘Diamonds’ to debut on Wednesday
Rihanna reveals a teaser image of her next album and confirms an airing date of her latest single.
Over the weekend Rihanna has been dropping hints over social networks. The ‘We Found Love’ singer dropped an image on her Twitter and Instagram of the now famous ‘R’ with some new styling. Believed to be a teaser for her seventh studio album, alongside it was a link to a new website called ‘Rihanna7.com’.
RiRi also revealed to Elvis Duran, (of New York’s Z100 Morning Show) in a quick interview with him at iHeartRadio’s annual music festival in Las Vegas; that her next single entitled ‘Diamonds’ will be debuted on US radio on Wednesday (September 26) morning.
She discussed with the host that the song is ‘happy and hippy’ and that it being different from her past material will surprise the fans. She went on to say:
It’s laid-back but it’s hopeful. It’s a record that… gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it…The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it’s about love and… a little different to what people would expect, I think.
Rihanna went on to tell Elvis that she likes to stay ahead of what’s on the radio, by keeping her music interesting and fresh. She went on to say, “I’m excited about that. I’m excited to surprise them sonically.”
‘Diamonds’ will be debuting in New York City at 8am local time which means here in the UK we’ll get it by the afternoon. It will be on her seventh studio album which is expected to go on sale in November.
