Germany celebrating against Portugal

We all knew this match would be a thriller but we didn’t know it would have went like this. Germany humbled the Portuguese side. It all started when João Pereira brought down Mario Götze and Germany were given a penalty, Thomas Müller converted from the spot into the bottom left corner.

It was still a young evening, as all eyes were on Cristiano Ronaldo, but the player failed to live up to expectations and had a very miserable game.

20 minutes later, in the 32nd minute Hummels scored a second goal for Germany when Kroos delivered a ball into the box and Hummels towered over Pepe and headed home.

Things went from bad to worse for Portugal as went ten men down, when Pepe hit Müller’s arm, the referee gives him a straight red.

Just when Portugal thought things couldn’t get any worse it did! Two minutes before half time Portugal conceded another goal this time Thomas Muller lashed home a shot to double his goal tally and extend the Germans lead.

At half time Portugal fans were 10 men down and 3-0 down, hope would have all been lost for the fans.

Hope had disappeared when Thomas Müller scored again, getting a hat-trick and putting shame to the Portuguese team.

The final score was 4-0, a very embarrassing score for Portugal and especially Ronaldo. Portugal will now want to pick themselves up and get back into this tournament.
