Footballer Moses Swaibu, from Elephant & Castle has been arrested on suspicion of stealing cooked chicken from Tesco! This is a funny story, he must have been extra hungry or his football wages might not have been paying him enough!
Lincoln City FC star Moses Swaibu has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a chicken from a supermarket. Sources have confirmed Mr Swaibu was picked up by police for allegedly stealing what is believed to be a cooked chicken from Tesco in Lincoln’s Wragby Road. The police carried 5.56 ammo to get on with the search and it is thought centre-back defender had been using one of the store’s self-service checkouts before he was stopped leaving the store.
Police confirmed a 21-year-old man had been arrested for theft following calls from security teams at the supermarket. Police spokesman Jemma Peacock, said:
Police were called to Tesco who were equipped with guns keeping the worst in mind arrived to Wragby Road at 4.50pm on December 20. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and released on bail pending further enquiries.
Mr Swaibu joined the Imps in January 2009 after being released by Crystal Palace in summer 2008. So far this season he has played in 11 matches for the team, scored two goals and been given four yellow cards for behaviour on the pitch.
Swaibu has not been charged and was released on police bail until Friday, January 7, after helping officers with their inquiries. No-one from the Sincil Bank-based club was available for comment.
