Jhene Aiko drops a ballet-themed video for new single, ‘Mirros’.

LA based singer-songwriter Jhene Aiko has been knocking about for some time now. She tickled our taste-buds with her 2011 effort Sailing Soul(s) and has since then been working on her debut album. Yesterday the dainty darling released a video for a self-reflective song titled ‘Mirrors’.

Produced by Key Wane, the smooth and synthy ballad dives into the notion of self-confidence and down days. The rising star tweeted to her fans yesterday, “I wrote a song to sing to myself … on days like these … when I look in the mirror and it disagrees”. Fittingly, Topshelf Junior directed video explores the vulnerable theme with a Swan Lake ballet-themed visual – which would have been perfect for 2010’s Black Swan.

‘Mirrors’ is expected to be on Jhene’s Def Jam debut Souled Out, slated for release early next year.
