London Ice Sculpting Festival 2013
The London Ice Sculpting Festival is set to return to Canary Wharf from 11 – 13 January 2013.
The annual London Ice Sculpting Festival will be returning to Canary Wharf, between the 11th January to 13th January 2013. The annual event organised by Philip Hughes – who was inspired by the ice festivals in North America, Russia and other cold locations. Over the three days there will be 12 teams of professional sculptures from all over Europe who will be competing to create a theme titled ‘The wonders of the Universe’.
For those really inspired by the winter festivity, there is an additional masterclass for anyone age 12 and above interested in learning the basics techniques of ice sculpturing taught by professionals.
These classes will be held in the Canary Wharf shopping centres – Jubilee Place and Canada Place, and at Wood Wharf, Docklands. These classes are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. There are other activities included a snow pit, an ice graffiti wall, ice chess, a winter market and a northern light laser show.
