Oxfam’s annual music festival, Oxjam, is back for a month of unforgettable gigs in Clapham Common.

Oxjam Music Festival 2013 - Clapham

If you love live music then here are some dates to put in your calender. Oxjam is a month-long  music festival with a goal of creating a network of music loving people. The whole purpose is to raise money to fight poverty and suffering all around  the world. It is organised by a group of volunteers, showcasing the latest talents all in aid of Oxfam’s fight against poverty.

This year they are taking over Clapham Common so check out these dates:

Thursday 22nd August: Oxjam Clapham Unplugged
This event is held at The Sun, in Clapham Common Old Town. It will start at 7pm and the artists who will be performing are Alfred Abel, Mark Mathews, Polly Violet, Susie B and Torben Tietz. It is a free event but donations are warmly welcomed.

Wednesday 4th September: Oxjam Clapham Indie Bingo
This event will be held at Belle Vue, in Clapham Common South Side.  If you love Bingo this is the perfect time to come out to this event. It is a chance to meet new people and discover new bands.  This game will be to raise money for Oxfam.

Wednesday 18th September: Oxjam Clapham Rocks
This event will be held at Arch 635, Clapham Common.  Doors will open at 6.30 pm but the first band will be on at 7.30 pm. The line up is The Half Light ( a local band in Clapham),  True Penny, Matildaz and Battle of You. Tickets are £5 for this event and can be paid in advance or at the door.

Friday 25th October: Oxjam Clapham Opening Night
This event will beheld at The Jam Tree in Clapham Common Old Town. The line up is still be announced. But this will be the first event gearing up for their huge event the next day.

Saturday 26th October: Oxjam Takeover Music Festival
This event will be held in four different venues: The Sun, Belle Vue, Arch 635 and The Bread and Roses. The genres will be Acoustic, Folk/Acoustic, Electronica and Rock/Indie. It will be an all day event. It was a major success last year and now it is back again this year.
