Back to College & University Outfit Ideas: Girls Edition

Oh yes, it’s coming up to that time again my fellow students. September is just around the corner so that also means college, university, coursework, lectures and deadlines are coming our way.
The thought of putting our shorts and skirts to the back of our wardrobes and pulling out our jeans and jumpers isn’t always the happiest, but don’t fear – we are here to give you some ideas of what you can wear to make sure that you at least look good while you’re learning.
This outfit is for the girls who like to go for that cool androgynous look; throw on a pair of boyfriend jeans and not only will you look cool and casual but you’ll be very comfortable. This pair from River Island have a slight ripped detail and for only £40, they’d be perfect for walking up and down the halls in. A crop top will add a hint of feminine without taking away from the boyish theme of the outfit. And to finish off the effortlessly cool look, add some chunky boots, a bomber jacket and a beanie. This faux leather rucksack from Motel Rocks is not only gorgeous and very on trend but it’s only £55 and what our parents would consider to be ‘sensible’ enough to carry all our books in.
Not ready to let go of wearing dresses yet? Replace your yellow and pink floral dresses with ones that have deeper and darker colours such a purple and you can easily carry the trend from summer to autumn/winter. This £12 dress from New Look is the perfect example. Cut out ankle boots have been really popular this year, it will even look good with an amazon ankle brace, and would be the perfect footwear to add to the girly theme of this outfit. This pair from Topshop are £52 and anyone would get excellent wear out of them as they’d look great with a range of other outfit combinations. Add some tights when it starts to get really chilly and you’re good to go.
For those that like the simplistic look, a white button- up shirt is a must have for your wardrobe. Very chic and extremely versatile. Jeans and loafers are the perfect combination to stay stylish and comfortable while you’re studying and these high waisted Topshop joni jeans for £36 will look great on any figure. Minimalism sometimes speaks volumes, and this outfit definitely screams casual but classy. This £49.99 Zara bag is perfect for college and university. There are massive compartments to store your books and stationary in and even a section for your laptop.
Lastly, if you’re feeling the sporty vibe – slogan tees and joggers are really on trend and look great paired together. This quilted £32 pair from Topshop stand out from the rest. You’re sure to stay comfortable whilst sitting in lectures and classrooms for hours on end and as an added bonus, you’ll look good. Mix and match your footwear and accessories with the subtle colours in your most colourful item and it will pull the whole outfit together nicely without looking overdone. Every girl needs a pair of trainers in their collection and Air Max 90’s are a perfect pick. Ranging from £90 to just over £100, these come in many different colours and can be found in stores such a Foot Locker and JD Sports.
The most important thing is being confident and comfortable whilst your amongst your peers, so go ahead and dress to impress but only wear what you feel comfortable and happiest in.
