BRIT Awards Results !!
Well another year of the BRIT Awards is over, and it was a good one. The night was actually the best Brits I’ve seen in years in terms of winners but was broadcast badly. There was some well deserved, though predictable statuettes awarded. With the lovely Adele taking home two out of the three Brits she was nominated for, and the major ones at that. The talented Ed Sheeran who was the most nominated artist of the night with four nods, scooped up the Best British Male Solo Artist and Best British Breakthrough Act after a beautiful acoustic performance of ‘Lego House’.
The show was filled with some great performances. The night was kicked off with Best British Group winners Coldplay performing their single ‘Charlie Brown’, they were shortly followed by Florence & The Machine. X Factor alumni One Direction surprising picked up an award for Best British Single for their catchy tune ‘What Makes You Beautiful’. Speaking of being beautiful, America’s pint sized singer Bruno Mars picked up Best International Male and performed his well known hit ‘The Way You Are’.
The anticipated performances of the night had to be that of Rihanna, Blur who won the Outstanding Contribution to Music award and of course the breathtaking Adele. Riri rocked the stage and the audience with ‘We Found Love’ after picking up Best International Female. Shortly followed by British band Blur (remember them from the 90s?) who wrapped up the show with an 11 minute performance that spilled over on to the ITV2 backstage show.
The show overall was pretty good, but in the last 15 minutes it’s sparkle was sadly lost when host James Corden cut off Adele during her acceptance speech, so that Blur could start their set. Poor James admitted on the ITV2 show that was presented by Keith Lemon and Laura Whitmore, that he didn’t know why the producers had told him to and that he felt bad about it. Check out how Adele reacted to the incident here.
