Introducing upcoming singer-songwriter Beverley Ely and her new single ‘What I’m Tryna Say’.
Beverley Ely is a 21-year-old R&B singer-songwriter hailing from Essex. Preparing to preparing to release her debut EP War this summer, she has spent the start of this year out in L.A. fine-tuning and preparing its release.
The EP is set to feature 5 original tracks, including her brand new single ‘What I’m Tryna Say’. Produced by Ciaran Fahy the track looks at relationships that are ruined due to outside opinions and is again a very personal topic to Beverley, who co-wrote the track with her sister Veronica. Speaking on the track and the tie-in with her own life she explains:
I was in a relationship that went weird for no reason. I found out the guy had spoken to someone saying ‘I really like her but she’s so different, how could I bring her home to my parents.’ Sometimes in life we feel like we need to change to fit in or be liked by others but we should always stay true to who we are.
Reminiscent of Christina Aguilera, Beverley’s stunning vocals mixed with the suspense and tension perfectly delivers this complex concept, and is another great indication of what to expect from the rising star this summer.
Having already attracted the attention of industry heavyweights Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Misha B, CJ Beatz, Ali Tenant, Marc Williams, Warryn Campbell and Rymez amongst others, the Essex native is one to watch!
