Jay-Z scores his first UK number one album with “Magna Carta Holy Grail”.

It’s hard to believe it has taken so long, but Jay-Z has finally scored his first UK number 1 album! The album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, probably the most talked about Hip-Hop album right now, has soared to the number one spot on the UK album charts.

So why is it so hard to believe? The rapper has released 13 number one albums in the US, but until today he hasn’t been able to top our charts here in the UK. His best to date was his 2011 joint album Watch The Throne, with Kanye West which peaked at #3 while his 2009 solo album Blueprint 3 only hit the #4 spot. To its acclaim Magna Carta Holy Grail has risen to the top spot within a week of its release!

Congratulations Jay-Z!
