It’s a sad day in the music world today as singing royalty Whitney Houston sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning (UK time), at the young age of 48. It’s especially sad news as today is an important day in the music industry as tonight the US will be celebrating the 54th Grammy Awards.
Whitney herself being a grammy award winning start having sold 170 million albums, singles and videos during her career will overshadow the nights events with her untimely and unfortunate passing.
The death of such an influential singer has shaken the world, myself still in shock with the surreality of her death as I took to Facebook and my tumblr this morning with:
I am in total SHOCK right now. Another phenomenal artist has passed over, a seriously sad loss to the music industry. Whitney Houstonwas the first artist I ever purchased on CD as a child. Despite the downfall in her career and the negativity that surrounded her in the last decade, nobody can take from her her talent. That talent that is her legacy that will surely live on in her honor.
At the moment speculation still surrounds her death but she will reign as ‘The Voice’ and remain an empowered figure for female artists. Condolenses to her family and fans and may she rest in perfect peace.
