After a crazy weekend of X Factor cuts, the final 24 have been revealed with slight twist.
Over the weekend the final 24 X Factor contestants were revealed. During the double dose which aired on Saturday and Sunday evening a mixture of rubbish and brilliant bootcamp auditions were shown. Many of the auditions left the audience thinking, ‘what on earth were the judges thinking’ when they put through some of the contestants!
On the Saturday saturday edition we saw favourites Lucy Spraggan, Jahmene Douglas and Robbie Hance crumble in the first part of bootcamp. Lucky for Lucy and Jahmene their brilliant first auditions bought them a second chance on day two, where they both redeemed themselves and won places in the top 6 of their categories.
Sadly, we saw homeless singer Robbie blow his chances by walking out in the middle of his group audition, after forgetting his lines.
On Sunday, we witnessed Lucy impressing the judges and audience by getting back on her guitar with another original song called ‘Tea and Toast’. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Ella Henderson continued her streak excellence with her own rendition of Cher’s ‘Believe’, which gained a standing ovation and brought Nicole Scherzinger to tears!
UK R&B singer Nathan Fagan-Gayle better known as Starboy Nathan sailed through with his very energetic performance of Labrinth’s ‘Earthquake’. Hyper R&B boy group Rough Copy also made the cut with the same song, while Times Red (which included the Abercrombie & Fitch model) were dropped even though their audition was faultless.
The younger boybands, GMD3 and Triple J went into a singing showdown as the judges found it difficult to choose between the two boybands. Triple J were ditched to much of the young female audiences disappointment; but in a twist have been brought back and renamed ‘Union J’.
