Argentina struggled to beat a determined Bosnia-Herzegovina side 2-1.
When Argentina step on a football field we know what will be presented will be very good. It looked that way when 3 minutes into time Argentina scored when Sead Kolašinac scored an own goal. Embarrassment for Bosnia-Herzegovina, excitement for Argentina.
But after that goal Argentina were laid back and didn’t work that hard. Compared to Bosnia-Herzegovina who worked their socks off to equalise but they just didn’t find the ball in the back of the net.
Bosnia-Herzegoniva were closing down Argentina in every area as they looked for their goal in the second half, playing quicker and more alert it looked like they would equalise.
The game changed when, the man himself, Lionel Messi who hadn’t had such a good night, redeemed himself when he cut inside on the right and exchanged passes with Higuaín, skipping past players to eventually score from a low driven shot to blaze past Begović’s hand.
But Bosnia didn’t give up in their pursuit to get their first goal, they did end up getting a goal, when a pass from Pjanić found Ibišević and he unleashed a shot through the legs of goalkeeper Romero into the back of the net. It was a lovely goal from the substitute.
Argentina will feel that they lacked in performance and that their is room for improvement in the next coming matches.
